Silverstone Museum is proud to announce the launch of the WelcoMe platform, a user-friendly platform designed to improve accessibility and enhance the visitor experience for all. As part of the Museum’s ongoing commitment to inclusion, the platform will streamline access for disabled visitors, allowing them to communicate their specific needs ahead of their visit, ensuring a more comfortable and enjoyable experience.

WelcoMe, developed by Neatebox, provides an easy and effective way for disabled visitors to share important accessibility requirements directly with the museum team prior to arrival. This allows staff to be fully prepared and provide the necessary support as soon as guests enter the venue. The service will be available from Friday, 4th October, and is set to make Silverstone Museum a more inclusive space for all motorsport fans.

Beki Challoner, Head of Visitor Experience at Silverstone Museum, expressed her excitement about this new partnership: “At Silverstone Museum, we are always looking for ways to enhance the visitor experience for everyone, and adding WelcoMe to our offering is a significant step forward.

"We’re delighted to be able to provide an innovative tool that improves and streamlines accessibility for all visitors, ensuring they feel welcome and supported from the moment they arrive.

"This partnership reflects our ongoing commitment to making the museum as inclusive as possible, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on our guests.”

Founder and CEO of Neatebox, Gavin Neate, said: “We are over the moon to be supporting Silverstone Museum with their launch of WelcoMe. With our innovative service, disabled visitors can communicate their needs in advance of their visit, meaning when they arrive they can focus on enjoying an exceptional museum experience.

"We have been thrilled with the engagement of the museum and positivity of the staff to provide the very best service possible. What an amazing opportunity to make motorsport even more inclusive and accessible to all.”

The introduction of WelcoMe was inspired by Nick Wilson, The Disabled Adventurer, whose passion for accessibility influenced Silverstone Museum’s decision to implement this solution.

Neate added, “To mix my love of inclusion with a lifelong passion for motorsport is a dream come true. I can’t thank The Disabled Adventurer, Nick Wilson, enough for requesting that Silverstone look at offering WelcoMe. His involvement proves that disabled people themselves can directly influence service provision at the venues they wish to visit.”
